Irate Okada riders and the Lagos Taskforce officials clashed in Abule Egba area of Lagos, Southwest Nigeria on Tuesday morning following the seizure of their bikes by the police. There was pandemonium in the area as the taskforce officials impounded lots of motorcycles plying prohibited routes. The okada riders regrouped and launched an attack on the taskforce. They blocked part of the expressway and burnt tyres right in the middle of the road. Vehicles intending to access the road leading to Agege from Abule Egba could not gain access as the protesters blocked the road by setting tyres on fire. Lagos plans massive onslaught against Okada riders in prohibited routes. Lagos Taskforce impounds 160 okadas in Berger, FESTAC, Badagry expressway. It was gathered that the taskforce officials after impounding lots of bikes left the scene immediately to prevent the crisis from snowballing.
