A fatal accident occurred on Sunday morning at Magboro Bust Stop along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, involving two vehicles and 16 people. One person died, and seven others were injured in the crash around 7:50 AM. According to eyewitnesses, the accident occurred when the driver of a Mercedes Benz ML350 (AKD424HH) lost control while trying to avoid a road user who was crossing the road. The Mercedes Benz collided with a Volkswagen commercial bus (KSF934YA) parked at the bus stop. Another eyewitness attributed the cause of the accident to indiscriminate parking of commercial vehicles at the bus stop and speeding.
