A builder simply identified as Mr Chizoba Aniefuna and his two sons, have reportedly lost their lives following the collapse of yet to be completed one storey building with pent house at Egbu Umuenem, Otolo Nnewi, Nnewi North Local Government Area (LGA) of Anambra state. According to sources, the incident which occurred around 8am on Sunday, also got a relative of the deceased trapped in the rubbles, although the victim was later rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital. Speaking on the incident, the Anambra State Chairman of Council for Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, Engr. Victor Meju, who had visited the scene, identified poor foundation, poor concrete mixture, poor quality of materials, non-conformity to standard and non approval from relevant regulatory authorities as probable cause.
