An attack on the residence of the Director-General of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Campaign Council in Kogi State, Ibrahim Jibrin, has left a policeman and four other persons dead. The attack, which occurred in Anyigba on Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at around 6 a.m., was reportedly carried out by political thugs suspected to be from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). The thugs also took away the corpse of the policeman, identified as Atabor, and the other victims, who were security personnel believed to be on duty. A statement released by the spokesman of the Muri/Sam Gubernatorial Campaign of the SDP, Faruk Adejoh-Audu, described the attackers as a "rogue force" allegedly assembled by Governor Yahaya Bello in preparation for the upcoming governorship election in the state.
