A pastor of a church reportedly lost his life while three other members sustained injuries when a church building collapsed in Makurdi, the capital of Benue state. The collapse was said to have occurred after 15 hours of heavy downpour that started on Monday, October 2, and continued into the early hours of Tuesday, October 3. It was learnt that the incident left a member of the church dead. According to sources, four members of the church were observing prayers at the church building before the incident occurred. It was gathered that the deceased was a pastor. The other worshippers were said to have escaped the collapsed building with various injuries.
