A commercial bus driver identified as Chidubem was wounded when suspected kidnappers opened fire on his vehicle on Ahoko Bridge on the Abuja-Lokoja Road. A resident of Ahoko village, identified as Ibrahim, said the driver who was conveying passengers from Enugu State to Abuja sustained a bullet wound on his left hand, and that the gunmen ran into the bush upon hearing gunshots from vigilantes who were on patrol. A vigilante, who was part of the operation but preferred anonymity, confirmed the incident, saying the intervention of the vigilantes forced out the kidnappers.
